Fully aware that many products have multiple pros and cons.
What works for you, for under the water? What is your process? (Putty, then glue plug or coral to putty)?

Which brands are recommended? I need to order soon but not seeing many positive reviews out there except maybe the Maxspec glue gun.
Just in case, I have purple rock and would like to keep it visibly appealing.

I just use superglue gel, I buy it a the 99 cent store. 2 pack for 99 cents haha
I cut the tip off the plug and put glue I then slowly dunk it in the tank and attach it. Hold for a bit till it cures up enough to let go. Coraline or coral will encrust and you wont notice it. I have been using this method for 15 years and have never noticed any issues.

I've always liked BSi IC-GEL

I've always found it cheaper at like model hobby shops and it's identical.

If I'm placing it in a rock then I use IC GEL on whatever putty I have. I find all the Putty's about the same.

I use gorilla glue and epoxy. My method was actually adopted after it was shared by a former BoD member at one of our Christmas parties one year. I use a small amount of epoxy (small being relative to the size of the coral frag to be mounted. I put one dab of glue between the base of the coral frag and the epoxy. and then i also put one dab of glue on the bottom of the epoxy that will actually be mounted to my desired surface. Works great!

If we are talking zoa polpys or mushrooms however where no base rock is involved, I just use the super glue and then stand the frag plug upright in a cup of tank water for a few minutes while the glue does it's thing and then I place in my tank.

Edit - I should clarify, if it is a mushroom with an exposed foot, I do not super glue those. I put them in a mushroom box with some crushed coral and wait for the foot to attach to something. I take that crushed coral and glue that to the frag plug.

Small frags just super glue. When I was working with REAL colonies I would use super glue gel on a large disk, them a ball of epoxy, then would dimple the epoxy, dry the bottom of the colony then I’d apply super glue to it and push it into the epoxy putty.

I'm going to call it, hands down worst part of this hobby. I fail spectacularly with almost every glue, I roll the dice with every glued frag. For bigger frags I use some overpriced PolypLab Glue along with some Tunze coral gum and that seems to work ok. But for smaller frags I just go a little glue heavy so my snails don't rip them off the rocks.

Whenever I glue frags I do a water change. Take the rock out and put it in the waste water bucket when glueing and let it set for a minute or two before throwing it back in the display. This eliminates most of the chemicals that are released when drying. I'm not sure of what glues are the safest, but in a 10gal and even 24gal I've seen problems if I glue to much at once.
