+1 for mj1200 and vortech, however its a bit pricey the vortech is, best cheap upgrade? MJ1200 and koralia 1 for the budget minded.
K1 isn't enough flow in a BC29.

How you figure? Recomended flow rate is 20-50x turnover in most tanks. 29g x20 = 580gph. K1 = 400gph, maxi1200=295gph which = 795gph or 23x turnover per hour. K1 will work out great for the biocube 29g keeping mostly softies. I could see upping it to k2 maybe if your sps dominant, but on a stock 29g the lighting will be insufficient for a sps dominant tank. The k2 maxi1200 will do about 31x turnover in the tank which would be pretty good for an sps tank, you toss a k3 in their however and your fish would go into a tail spin. I've seen quite a few bc29 owners running a k1 with a knano, one on each side however, back left and back right to achieve the desired flow.
Heres a good example:

Yeah I see your point, I just think in terms of sps I guess. I guess I tend to forget people still use power compacts to light reef aquariums. In my old 15 rimless cube sps dominant, I had 2 K2s and a 250gph (after headloss) return for flow within the tank and it was about right. The dimensions of the tank were 15.5x15.5x13.75inches tall.

Aye, I definately love a lot of flow, as I have a ton in my mixed reef, but for the system he was running I like to take a look at the whole picture first. Gmod has been asking about the led retrofit for his tank, if he does that then 2 k2's would be sweet and he could look into doing an sps tank.

Ive also got a Eheim 2236 Eco filter pumping in the tank along with the stock filter in the biocube...So iam hoping I might beable to get away with just 1 of the koralia 1 since ive got one coming already...Also got the Sapphire Protien skimmer coming so i will be taking the crummy bio balls out...
