Can anyone help identify what this black growth on the underside of the green Montipora. Looks like black algae?
The monti is coloring well with a rich green and growing. Should I be concern?

Thanks

Hard to tell looks like a black sponge. Sometimes a fast grower just keep an eye on it.

^^^^^ second that on Chris ^^^^^
Sponges aren't that bad but you don't want them to take over.
Get a dwarf angel as they will munch on them

Yes, these are black sponges !!!
Get Dwarf Angels to keep them under easy control.

They do the job of a sponge in the tank, just take over quite well if not been kept in shape.
