Gem tangs came in by the thousands about 6 months ago...maybe longer. When that quantity hit the US market...it drove the price down. Initially they tried getting that 2-3K price, but after a few companies lowered the price to get them sold ($600) boom...the price dropped significantly.

I’m not sure. I walked into Petco one day and the aquatic guy rushed me and said...we have Gem tangs for $650. Then shortly after that the same week I kept hearing about Gem tangs everywhere. Locally, I think Oceanlife got some, and several others across the states. They were blowing up on the forums.
