I have a ~4" male Ostracion meleagris that I purchased from Live Aquaria about two weeks ago that is not eating. He is very active and appears healthy but I have not seen him eat anything. He is currently in a 57 gallon tank with some seahorses, juvenile Banggai cardinalfish and a copper banded butterfly fish. I have tried the following foods.

- Frozen Spirulina Brine
- Frozen PE mysis
- Nori
- Sera 45010 Marine O-Nip Tabs (stuck to the glass)
- Hikari Clam On A Half Shell
- Reef Frenzy

I called Live Aquaria and they were not to much help. The only thing they recommended that I have not tried is live bood worms. Any other suggestions? I really like this fish and hate to lose him.

I would try live blood worms. I think oceanlife has them, call to confirm.

I know Oceanlife had live brine shrimp... Not the healthiest food, but sometimes anything is better than nothing

I gave live brine and fancy guppies a try today and no luck. Here is a video of him though.

Live brine always works for me when I get a new fish that wont eat. I feed the brine spirulina and selcon to make them more nutritious. Keep trying that. It may take some time.

Honestly he looks totally healthy and does not have a single blemish or spot on him. He just swims around and pays no attention to food. Based on a post on Reef central I went ahead and ordered this stuff called Tropical Science Labs Marine Max. It kind of sounds like snake oil but all of the reviews are positive and I am willing to try anything at this point. http://a.co/d/9nzMJXN

As for the copper banded butterfly, I got him from Fish Gallery of all places. I had them feed him in the store (live brine lol) and he ate well. I have only had him since 9/23/18 but he is doing well and eating.

I believe 100% what Webster just said above. He loves his fish. He spends $700 weekly to keep them all at their current weight. :p
