I’m considering getting a Blue Reef Chromis. Some of what I read makes me think twice. I have a Nuvo 40 gallon. A few different corals. A small BTA. 2 clowns, 1 fire fish, and 1 sailfin blenny. Here are a couple pics to show you what I’m working with. What do you guys and gals think? 8ced453dd1e91df141e9a7f376d8e33f.jpg

IMO, a blue reef chromis needs to be in a bigger tank. They are territorial and semi-aggressive to more feeble tank mates like your firefish. I know LA says peaceful and 30g min tank size so you can try it, but from my experience, they can be pissy.

So update. I bought a royal gramma Monday. Woke up this morning (Thursday) and the royal gramma had passed away. :(

I’ll try again in a few months.

Sorry to hear that. Might be worth trying a quarantined fish. At least you’d know he was healthy and eating when he got to you.
