This argument makes me think about cars. Is a 600hp car faster and more powerful than a 200hp car? Of course. Can it get you to work three times faster? Not likely - between traffic and road conditions, and the fact that either one can easily go fast enough to get you arrested and your car confiscated, it doesn't really matter that much, other than it's cooler.

And for the record, I still dose manually once per day. Since I don't tear my tanks down every few months to a couple years and start over, and I am not that into constantly fragging and selling my corals, I don't need the maximum growth speed. And my manual dosing never gets stuck on or off, or gets clogged, crashing my tank.

For me it’s only about one 2 things. The fastest growth possible and vivid colors. Although I’ll take growth over color.

IMO there’s 2 primary things that achieve this “faster” and go beyond the average reef tank. Both are also fused with stability.

1. Trace Elements
2. Calcium Reactor

How about both? That’s how I run my system. Trident testing and ads ca and alk and mag for stability when they each drop with growth spurts.

So is the challenge on or what? I'm very interested to see the outcome but for any experiment there should be parameter that all parties should have to abide by. There are so many other factors that affect coral growth I cant see how this would prove or disprove the theory. Side note here.. I think my tank was more stable when i was dosing but I'm still new to reefing.

You’d have to have two identical set ups with the only thing that changes is doser/calc Rx. And repeat this experiment multiple times to actually chart a trend.

Anything past that is just posturing. Originally I was just trying to spur discussion but it devolved Into fanboyism and badly drawn charts.

The outcome will likely favor who ever has the keeps the most steady tank regardless of the method of supplementation. Which was the point I was trying to make.
