A cheaper and just as good calcium additive is Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime. You can pick it up at Krogers for under 2 dollars a bag.

I have been using it with good results so far.

I don't personally use it, but if I had a bigger tank to dose, I certainly would.

My buddy down the street uses it with no problems on his 135G. In fact, when I met him, he let me in on his "secret" alternative to Kalkwasser. Not so secret it seems.
