I am using reborn now and have another 2 packs for one more reload. I do think the PO2 is a little high with it but it is very stable and consistent so far. My ph controller is set at 6.5 and it stays there and getting very consistent alk readings. I am not complaining about this consistency.

Ok, I thought maybe you had some old leftover. I have a 44lb bag (I believe) of the new stuff. That should last me at least a year.
Only been running calcreax for a year but I will never have a reef tank without one now! Most stable my tank has been at any point. Now if those nudibrachs would hurry up and eat those aptaisia I would be really happy!

It’s the only way to go for me. Andre went back to 2-part due to all these crap medias we have now that are causing nutrient issues. I haven’t got to test mine out yet, but hopefully it’s not too bad.

How do you run your reactor? Two pH probes on apex?

I use a Milwaukee ph controller set at 6.5 and a Kamoer pump to the tank. I also have a small feed pump pushing water to the Lifereef reactor. I tried it with just the Kamer pulling the water but ended up with more bubbles and less consistent. Now with the tiny feed pump pushing the water to the pump and the Kamoer pushing it back into the tank it has zero bubbles and a consistent affluent which means I barely touch the Kamoer dial! I check it weekly now and hang around 8.5 dkh very consistently.

I cannot trust my apex that much...we have a history...now my apex is just a monitor.

I probably didnt give 2 part a fair shake. At first I was dosing with a Jaebo doser. While it worked, changing programming took time on the little dial. I THOUGHT I was smart when I bought a DOS but after the apex lost programming to it 3 times and then one of the heads decided it no longer wanted to be seen by the apex I quit. Funny thing is the jaebo doser still works just fine and the expensive DOS is hanging there pissing me off every time I look under the tank! :) I would think a good wifi doser would work well because that is all it does.

GHL…hard to get online but the simplicity of the app is amazing.

The Red Sea ReefDose 4 looks like winner. I talked to Jake Adams about it and he’s still saying no issues and easy to get online. He’s the 2nd person that said it’s a breeze to get online and running.

Dang. Ive never ran my arm below 6.3. In fact, I’ve tried lower and saw my alk drop. I could try again by testing effluent dkh now (at 6.3) and then at 6.2 or 6.1. A guy I know runs arm coarse and recommended 6.3 after years of ARM use

I'm using my apex with two probes. I almost nuked my tank using a Milwaukee due to failure. It was reading like it was working but found out it wasn't and causing ALK spikes. I had the apex so just decided to use it instead of buying another Milwaukee. Never had an issue afterwards.

The Milwaukee pH controller or monitor?

Maybe that is the lowest melting point for each media and how potent the Effluent is. I need to go back and watch that video again. Doesn’t sound completely accurate to me.

I thought for sure Arm melted a little higher than that. I know reborn is higher too.

Edit: Looks like they are trying to find a reactor media set point with each media type that provided an effluent dKH concentration as close 30 dKH as possible. These valves above were pH melt points for each different media type at 30 dKH effluent concentration. Then they let the reactors run for 24 hrs and ran some tests for phosphates in the effluent and that’s what’s on the graph above. The pH melting points above isn’t were the media actually starts to melt, but rather the pH of the effluent concentration at 30 dKH specifically.
