+1. I would really like to improve my water quality as well. I know I need to send my samples for testing before I add any other canisters to the RODI though.

There is a test kit from spectrapure specifically for chlorine/chloramines. ~$10. That’s what I use

Well I’m beefing up my system. Almost done.

Added an extra di canister last year. Newest resin on the far left, somewhat exhausted resin second from left. Added another canister far right. Placed sediment filter there for first stage. Second stage will be the same thing as BRS “chloramine buster” with the big blue Pentair 20” tall housing with their CRFC20 filter for chloramine. Third is 5 micron cto carbon, fourth is 1 micron carbon, ro membrane, di and lastly the second di.

Overkill perhaps but should get me my desired results.

Someone was asking for a photo. It’s not yet finished but it is up and running. Need to tidy a few things up.

I added two more stages to my unit-an extra chloramine buster carbon and DI resin. So now I have 1 pre-filter, 2 carbon, 2 DI, RO membrane.

@RR-MAN: So you added a single canister up front, moved your pre-filter there, added the chloramine buster to what used to be can #1, then added another single canister in the end with another DI resin?

Here’s what BRS sells with its big chloramines monster kit. Same filter. Just search the web for a good price. You’ll need the big Pentek big blue filter housing which is around $42 on amazon. You’ll need to bush it down from 1” fpt to 1/4” ro push fitting. If you want to mount it the bracket is sold separately and the cap is. It tapped or threaded.

P.s. read button on top is pressure relief. You can order one without it.

Thanks for the info. No need for the Pentek ChlorPlus carbon block in conjunction to this?

Brs recommends an Additional carbon after the 20”.

BRS Reverse Osmosis Chloramines Monster

There’s their page on their chloramines monster. I got everything off amazon for under $190. I just had to hit a plumbing supply house for the 1” mpt to 1/2” bushing then ace hardware for the 1/2” to 1/“4 shark bite male to 1/4” push ro fitting.

If you want to mount the big blue to a bracket ( also on amazon for about $9) you’ll need to tap the head/cap with a 10 mm tap set and find the correct 10mm fastener to match the pitch of your tap.

Above I wrote the cap was tapped already but it is NOT threaded.

Got it... So I will order this through Amazon and get two single canisters. I will move Pre-filter (Sediment) to station #1, big blue, chlorplus carbon in station #1 of my system (instead of pre-filter), carbon, membrane, DI and then another DI in the last single canister.

Thanks for the help!

I added two new brs canisters upfront-

1-prefilter (.5 micron)
2-chloramine buster carbon
3-chloramine buster carbon
4-DI
5-DI
6-RO Membrane

Two new canisters sitting on floor-have not mounted then yet.

@RR-MAN: Let's see if I follow your setup.

1 - Pre-Filter (Original sediment filter that comes with the Vertex or upgraded filter)
2 - Chloramine buster carbon (Is this the regular carbon filter that comes from factory or upgraded chloramine filters?)
3 - Chloramine buster carbon (Is this the regular carbon filter that comes from factory or upgraded chloramine filters?)
4 - DI Resin (This is a separate canister either not shown in the photo or the ones in the floor)
5 - DI Resin (This is a separate canister either not shown in the photo or the ones in the floor)
6 - RO Membrane

I assume your RODI system is a 100GPD as you have one membrane. My system is a 200GPD and has two membranes.

After lots of reading, I was thinking about getting a BRS SKU: 211140 (Two canisters with DM-1 Dual TDS Meter) and connecting BEFORE the Vertex.
The system would look like this:

1 - Pre-Filter
2 - Carbon Filter
3 - Cation DI Resin
4 - Anion DI Resin
5 - RO Membrane
6 - DI

My system has the RO membrane before the last DI. So, I wonder if what I have in mind is correct?
Are your chloramine buster carbon filters the regular canister size or the large one referenced about earlier in the thread?

We have everything you'd need to put a 20" x 4.5" chloramine filter with housing before your system.
