Cleaning Vinegar from Dollar Tree? (1 Viewer)

I needed vinegar today, so I grabbed it from Dollar Tree. I needed to soak the power head I use to mix saltwater, which had frozen up. I put quite a bit of the vinegar in a bucket with water, and it foamed up BIG. Is this stuff safe to use on aquarium stuff?

I would not use it. White vinegar consists of acetic acid and water. That brand has a handful of other ingredients that I'm not sure if they would effect for critters or not.

I would highly recommend the Hill Country 9% from HEB. It has a blue label. It has roughly twice the acid of regular white vinegar and can completely clean your pumps in 30-45 minutes.

Haha no joke. That brand is the Mexican cartel version of vinegar.

Uses citrus oil.. could be synthetic? Maybe what foamed, probably no bueno for aquariums.

My wife said IF the the cartels were smart they would give up the illicit drugs and start making insulin, epi pens and such...

Yeah I agree. aectic acid and even citric acid all good... the rest not so much.
