I have a purple tang, bi color angel and an ugly clown in QT with about 1.7 in the tank. I have a few fish in my 32 that have some ich or so it looks to be. Now the actual question is if I put the fish from my 32 into qt with the tang etc will it make the tang and pals sick as well? Or will it just kill it all...?

[*]DON’T add more fish to the one(s) you already have in QT. You risk introducing a new disease into your QT and having to restart the QT clock. Be patient; add more fish once the current occupants have graduated to the DT.

I don't do copper, so I'm not sure if 1.7 is a lot or a little.

If it's a lot, then shouldn't you gradually raise the copper? May be too much for these new fish to handle quickly. If it's a little then I imagine ich can certainly move to the purple tang and crew. Of course there's diseases that copper doesn't treat some stuff, so if the new fish had intestinal worms or something that could transfer.

My bad advice:
If you have ich in your DT, you have a while before any fish can go back into that system (45 or 76 days depending on your risk tolerance). So I would probably drop the copper level down to a point you can introduce new fish, and then raise it back up. Then do the full gamut of treatment to treat all of them.

If you’re sitting at 1.7ppm. Lower the level to 1.0 and then you can add them. Obviously the clock starts over back to day one. I would FW dip or H2O2 before you put them into the tank.

FYI, bicolor angel’s are sensitive to copper in my experience. I’d put that one is a separate 5/G tank and do TTM and observe.

Wow! It seems like I have the copper level way too high! Cat over @ Galactic was telling me 1.5 - 2 for this livestock...

You should avoid adjusting the level of copper for the livestock you’re keeping. The level of copper is ALWAYS therapeutic. If a particular fish cannot handle the medication then seek alternatives.

If it’s not therapeutic then it’s a waste of time.

Each brand of copper has its own therapeutic range. If you’re dosing copper power the therapeutic level you want to hit 2.5ppm.

I like CP because you can go from zero to 100 right away. As long as you aren't too far along, you can add additional fish and just start the clock over. Or...you can always set up a second tank as well.

You called it! The angel is deteriorating! I pulled it and have it in a separate spot with fresh salt water...it’s eyes are turning white and it fins are looking quite rough! Any suggestions for the next step for this angel?
The clown and tang seem to be better from the copper treatment...

Yes, let him recover for a day or so and start TTM. Or if you notice any white spots are other signs of parasites like flashing or erratic behavior then start TTM. You can also do a round of Prazipro or GC while your doing the TTM. Try to feed the fish to build it up during this process.

Ok so the angel died...copper seems to be the culprit. Live and learn I guess, clown and tang look lovely. My question now is for the purple tang. It looks great and is eating fine. It does a fully body twitch every now and again but I don’t know tang behavior so I’m not sure if it’s cause for concern or if I can release them into my Displays...?
