Ok I have been noticing some fuzzy white sack looking things in my frag tank....they resemble a spider egg sack somewhat. I just looked in one of the small filters I have running on the tank and there are tons of the little sacks in there....There was a large one in the main tank but it has since disappeared....if anyone has an idea of what they are I would appreciate the information. If not I will try to post on reefcentral and see what I can come up with. I don't think I will be able to get a decent picture though.

If they are what I think they are, I've got about a zillion of them in my sump... They seem to like simly with, high flow area (around my skimmer column, for example). I think that they are a type of sponge, but haven't been able to get a solid ID yet. As of now (at least) they appear to be harmless (and kinda' cool)

AggieBrandon, thanks for the link. Now I know never to expose sponges to air (duh!). But what I found interesting is that tap water is probably better for many sponges.

As for your mystery critters, have you considered snail eggs?

Well my assumption as well as Karen's answer were correct....pineapple sponge is what they are commonly called. shimek says they are considered a sign that your tank is really healthy. They like the dimly lit areas.

Well that would explain why they are all over the sides of my 75 that doesn't have that much light over it.

Yeah i have an eheim liberty filter on the frag tank and they are all on the inside of it....kinda neat especially since they are a good sign and do not have a negative effect.

LOL....I took my time and finished in a minute and fifteen seconds....Kept it all down and enjoyed a night of drinking at the Texas Hall of Fame afterwards. I have a buddy that downed his in 27 seconds. I have seen too many people try to drink it too fast and end up puking half way through or right when they finish.
