Don't worry about pH, and no need to test nitrite. What's the nitrate level?

I won’t test nitrates until I start to see ammonia drop.
Ok, but this isn't freshwater... Nitrite is irrelevant in saltwater.

I would disagree
I monitor nitrite in the cycling process to examine how ammonia is breaking down and obviously as a precursor to nitrates which I want to see to show my cycling is complete. I typically won’t test for ammonia or nitrites in a cycled aquarium unless my nitrates are high so essentially I work the nitrogen cycles backwards.

I am still sticking with the fishless cycle. Ammonia is going down, nitrites are through the roof, and nitrates are increasing. The brightwell said not to use live sand or dry live rock both of which I did...lol.

Have you put any Copepods in the tank yet? I know that my opinion might be skewed but it will make a huge difference in cycling your tank. My 81 gallon has been up for just over 6 months now and corals and fish are happy and growing fast. I also dose phytoplankton and that is the secret if feel. I am thinking about setting up a tank to show how much smother and faster they cycle. The process is just cleaner and simple when you add them. Just do a YouTube search and see all the results for yourself. The proof is there and I see it every day. Great looking tank can not wait to see the first fish go in.
If you get your big fuge going again nitrates will be a non issue.

It finally cycled will be adding a few fish this weekend
Let the saga begin...
Took me over a year to have 6-8 tangs in the tank. I got lucky bought most of my fish from other reefers. The livestock quality is not like it used to be back in the day. I would quarantine if buying from LFS.

I can already tell that the fish are so small
We got a local guy that brings in gorgeous rare fishes , big or small and great pricing.

I am trying to figure out what the hell i will place there. It's a bit of an issue during water changes but I started to draw some water of the sump to do changes which is helping that. While it looks cool, it has proven not to be a good decision.
