What is up with my 20 gal nano? Dinos? Cyano? I have tried microbacter, chemipure and a three day black out and water changes. Changing filter sock every day too. This pic is of a sea fan that gets covered everyday and then the floor of tank and rocks get it too/

Are you sure the water going in is clean? Worth a test of it for nitrate & po4
Cleaning crew lacking?
Feeding too much?

I know my issue is always I feed too much. Last fall my RO/Di needed filters replaced, so when I was doing daily water changes I wasn't helping...

Just confirmed Dinos with microscope. RO/DI water going in . 2 peppermints and and 3 hermits and emerald crab. Was feeding too much bc I had a sand bed and seahorses. removed both 6 weeks ago when this started. nitrites zero and phos near zero.

Any updates from your side? I did a 2 day dark period and brought back the light gradually. At the same time I gradually raised temp to 82, added prodibio ocean clean and started dosing phyto.. nothing.. the dinos are on the attack and small patches of cyano showing up too. I blast corals 2-3 times a day yet everything is starting to turn white. Vibrant is on the way.. good luck.

This is my mothers tank and we've made decent progress. We tried a three day blackout as well as UV sterilizer, I had dinos in one of my tanks last year that UV took care of in a few days but no luck this time. We also tried Vibrant before we realized it was dinos. I feel like all the Vibrant really did was help remove nutrients and competition and then the dinos really took off so I'd be careful with it. Just don't let nutrients bottom out or it will get worse. We eventually started using this product DinoX DINO X (Algae X) - Fauna Marin that seems to be working after a few doses. Visibly cleaner in the mornings and the dinos don't take over the tank again by midday. I'll try and take some progress photos next time I'm there.

Hhmmm I have read people having good success with vibrant. I hope that it will take care of it. If not, fauna Marin it is. Thanks for sharing that story. Some how it always seems people just plug in expensive equipment and everything turns out beautifully. Not me. I plug in all the expensive equipment in the world and still Just have a glorified algae reactor 🙄
