I think something else must be wrong you should have cycled through this a long time ago. That is not a mini-cycle that is major. Is there something that is dead rotting in you tank?.2ppm for amonia is really high. How are the fish doing? I would do a major water change and use a amonia detoxifier if there is anything alive in your tank.

I would suggest a 50% water change today check the water tommorow and follow up with 25% water changes. Your tank went into a cycle on Thanks Giving a new tank cycles in less time and would not have amonia now. There is something in you tank rotting that you probally need to find. I would definetly suggest some amonia detoxifier. It does not get rid of the amonia but will help keep you fish alive.
