Today was the day. The amazing “That Aquarium Place” crew arrived in great spirits all the way out in El Campo, (2 hours from the store front). Delivery was quick and extremely professional. The entire setup and aquascape was completed in less than 2 hours. Parameters were set on my Apex app and a brief summary of the expectations over the next 30 days were discussed. I happily sent them on their way with enough homemade dewberry to accommodate the entire staff, as a small token of appreciation for a job well done.
Excitement and nerves are now in full throttle. Wish me luck guys.

A beginning, an end, another beginning and another end. Sad story ahead.

Tried my hand at cementing over the past few days. Molded dry rocks together to form tunnels and caverns for tangs. I
wasn’t going to add fish any time soon but cycle tested well, and I bumped into an old friend. I insisted to my wife that we go by T&T yesterday, as that is where we started our reef journey almost 20 years ago. Visiting with the owner I learned that it was his very last day in the business yesterday. After an hour long conversation, I basically bought out his entire livestock of his personal home tank. Orange storm pair, black snowflake pair, blond naso, a few gobies, and some odds and ends. I got purple tang, yellow eye, pow brown, powder blue, and a few nameless clowns as well. I know this is going to be a hella bio load for a month or so, but they are all quarantined for 6 months or better, so I couldn’t walk away from the offer. I grabbed 3 blue boxes of fritz because I’ll likely burn through it all rather quickly now. Im a sentimentalist so this really touched me and will be one of my most meaningful moments in the new reef. Sad goodby to an old friend.

The wife was moved as well…….. moved right over to That Aquarium Place to place her order for her 93g cube complete with sump and stand. My savings account wishes I had stayed home yesterday.
