I have always placed my tanks with the backs about 6" from the wall. It makes sense when I have HOB equipment. I am now setting up a 125G RR, everything I need will be under the tank, inside the stand. Can I set it up just a couple inches from the wall? Is there anything I miss?

Sometimes you need to get behind the tank so I would probably still leave about 3-4" from the wall.

It comes down to personal preference and the way you have things configured. I have my nano only about 1/2" off the wall to allow for cords, my larger reef is 5" off the wall to allow for plumbing to the closed loop. I could have put it closer if I had not decided to use a CL.

Personally I want a tank room so I can have tons of room to work all around my tank.

Hi, angel.
My 140 is just wide enough to get my arm back there in case I need to reach some electrical wiring...

Good luck,
Steve

We just tore down our 58 to install laminate in my sons house, when we went back up we came out 2 more inches giving us 4.5 to 5 inches. Its much nicer for wiring etc.
