Do you clean your sand bed and what technique do you use? Curious to find out who REALLY cleans their sand bed and when you do what tools/techniques are you using.

Do you have a goby and do you keep your water decent? If iodine is low and they can't molt you may not see them and they can die. They also hide all the time without a goby. I tried to get you a picture but my goby is freaked out by my phone... I can get my face close but can never get a good picture.

I think I have gone up to a year without seeing mine due to the goby not wanting to come to the front of the tank. Fish will do what they want. Hell, when I moved I could not set up my large tank so I got a smaller one specifically so I could keep my clowns. Jerks picked in a cave to spend all their time so I basically never see them. Got snowflakes since I like the way they look, only see the female when she comes out to get food....

I have a tiger pistol shrimp. All sand in my tank is turned over twice a week by the little sociopath.
Only twice a week?? Each morning I have to count my coral/frags anywhere near the sandbed to make sure none were buried or worse, used to decorate his cave overnight. Don't see him often, just his feelers from time to time when I feed

I'm talking every grain of sand moved twice a week. Have not gotten any frags since I moved so I would be terrified if he moved any of the corals I have now....

Heavy stir one section of the tank with a water change and level sand back out as needed.
