If you're looking for a detailed explanation about the biology of a coral and how it functions, then the video linked below is fantastic. What is the mechanism by which they sting? How do they produce mucus? How do they physically eat (the expensive food you're feeding them)?
I would guess the young lady that made the video did some research for something school related, but she did a great job formatting and illustrating all the information in an easy to digest video. I found it while look for the answer to a coral biology question, and I would highly recommend the two and a half hour listen if you're interested in a little more in-depth understanding of how these lovely critters work!
