Are they the same thing? If so I'll be picking it up at Walmart etc now by the bagfulls.

Any thoughts or hard evidence here anyone can provide?

I don't like it. It clogs too fast. I use sponge filters now. Like the ones in the back of aquaclears.

What you wanna use it for?

Just nice to have around. I'll be using big pore sponges when they arrive. I was always curious. But, I do have some in my filter socks near the top to stop the crashing water from the overflow. It was also nice to have in there when adding sand to filter out some of the milkshake you get while adding sand.

I guess i got my answer if pillow batting contains fire retardants.

Many conventional bedding materials are treated with anti fungicides and bug/insect repellent to make storage easier......

Would not use it.

I have used it often. I am not sure what is in it but it does a good job trapping dirt,grime and debris.
