hi i recently put a juvenile one of these in my reef tank and have not seen any of my crabs since? are these guys known for eating others? maybe they are just hiding?

Yes they are a staple of its diet. Here is more information on the engineer goby

I have two of them in my tank. The first one I thought it died so i got the second one. When I moved the tank I found both of them still alive and kicking. So yes they can hide very well. I use to go weeks with out seeing them. Now they are to big to hide.
