Hello: I just bought a double head feather duster. I have not had much luck with them in the past but that was a long time ago. I have a 125 well established marine tank of 29.5 years. Should I get a suppliment for it or just leave alone. What max temp will they tolerate. During the summer months my aquarium can get as high as 83. Thanks for your advice.

I got one as a hitchhiker once a long time ago, and it lived about three years. I never tried to feed it or do anything for it. That being said, any time I bought one, I did not have much success with it. It might be worth trying something like Reef Roids or a liquid plankton product. Not sure about the temperature - my tank never got that warm.

Apparently they need phytoplankton... If you have green algai blooms there is phytoplankton being made. ? I scrape algai off the glass once a week on average in that area ... As well if the feather duster looses it's feathers it is due to stress or malnutrition. I am going to see how it goes. It is possible there is enough phytoplankton there already to support the feather duster?... If one of the 2 looses it's feathers I will purchase phyotplankton as a suppliment. ??

I feed my naso sea weed..that will promote algai bloom. I will leave my aquarium light on much longer...aim for 10 hours. Bad news is fish are picking at it but that may pass. Thanks for the info.
