That stand ain't going anywhere. Beast mode.
And I've always liked that wavy tile on walls.

Thanks D!!! I need the assurance.

It's going nowhere...6 lbs of 3 & 2.5 screws

So for flow I wanted to go with 2 ecotech vectras but after talking to a couple marshians with 400/g tanks who uses vectras decided to go a different direction.

I went with a laguna pump. I ran this on my previous 200/g - super quiet, efficient, and powerful.

Looking good! I need to invest in that red plumbing device for frame work. If a stand gets twisted (mine always do) the stand doors don't fit well. Gotta keep everything plumb.

It's a must for any woodworking plus it's super cheap-

Yeah man... I'm so sorry for not being there to help out. I can't wait to see how this turns out though! I know you're patient though... That's the right mentality with them bigger tanks. :) Good luck bro! Very happy for you (in many aspects, not just reef)!

Most definitely will be interested in some choice frags not sure about 80 or 90 though. :)

Not a very productive weekend for the reef but had a great time with the 4th parties.

Tank Update:

Sump is in the stand. The only way to get it in the stand was from one end which has a removable post (see pic #1 & 2). I have the post in for the heck of it, not really needed since I used 2X6s. Sump measure 60 X 36. I also left the bottom of the stand open so I can see everything below the sump/clean the area/keep it ventilated/keep on an eye on the wood floors plus that's a great place to put a couple of water leak sensors for the apex.

I'm so glad I made the stand 42" tall otherwise I had no choice but to buy a new skimmer right away. My cone reef octopus 3000 fits in perfectly now which was used only for a year on my previous tank. Definitely want to upgrade to a lifereef skimmer soon.

Swung by Ocean Life and picked up some bulkheads...ready to plumb the tank hopefully this weekend. And run some vinegar to clean it all up.

Here are a couple of pics:

Harvey can't slow me down:

RO/DI installed in the fishroom closet and ran the line directly through the wall to fill up tank.

My ro/di is 100GPD so it's gonna take a few days to fill up 650/g total water volume. Booster pump does help save some water.[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Finished product before MH was placed in the canopy (racking system).

Love it! Can you post a full front shot of the tank? Would love to see another angle on your rockscape [emoji16]

It's very hard to get the whole tank in one shot. The arch in the middle is 3 feet wide. Once the MH light comes on I will try to take a few pics.

more pictures of the canopy! what lights are you running ?

The main lighting is 3X 250W MH and some T5s but for now some cheap LEDs so I can see the fish. I wanted to build a versatile canopy so I can change the lighting anytime, MH, T5s or LEDs.

The hanging canopy is a simple 1X4 (good quality wood) with some heavy duty metal strips 1.5" wide I bought from HD (not sure what it's used for). The metal is attached to the wooden frame with some large bolts. Wood is sanded and painted 3 times to give it a smooth finish. The canopy is hung by some industrial cable from HD. Super simple but came out great for what I needed - Here's the inside shot while I was building it in the garage.
