A TDS meter will tell you if your DI resin is doing what you want it to. Do yourself a favor and purchase a cheap chlorine test kit made for pools. You can check periodically, especially as your carbon blocks age, to make sure all the chlorine is being removed. If your water district used chloramine, it's even more important to test. Not only is chlorine bad for the fishes, it will shorten the life of your RO membrane. (Depending upon how long your water sits exposed to air, the chlorine can dissipate somewhat, but, again, the purpose of carbon in an RO filter is to protect the membrane -- insane? Lol)

Considering that having good clean and pure H2O is the base of your tank, I wouldn't go cheap on the RO Unit.

Get the BRS 4 Stage, and later if you want to upgrade you switch out stages and add a separate DI unit.

Amazon? Great return policy! :)
Exactly what I was thinking and he should still be in the return window if he just purchased it.

I keep buying BRS even though they aren't top of the line. They're always available. I know customer service it amazing. They're reasonably priced. You can easily upgrade when you feel you need it. BRS has about every upgrade you need. Most can be added on effortlessly.

I have a humble little 4-stage right now, but I change my sediment filter, carbon block, DI, and Membrane when needed- on time. It produces 0 TDS so I honestly think I'll just stick with it for a while unless I start having some unforeseeable issues.

I had a little 4-stage on my 75/G and it did just fine. Always zero TDS with no issues in the tank. 20E8E19B-F9AB-487E-A8B2-F4733F9FCF23.jpeg

That time window is probably long gone. It will work, but you'll be the only reefer with that unit. :) If you're getting 0 TDS....then....go for it.

Did you do any research before you bought it or was this a typical reef impulse buy? :twitch:

Lol I did SOME research but apparently not enough [emoji23]. It has great reviews but I’ll have to test it first and see....then I guess the longevity would be the issue...?
