Sarah and I payed a visit to Fish R Us in Conroe today. We were shopping for newts. Yes her and I do fresh water too. This is a large store with plenty of live stock both fresh and Salt. Most of the livestock looked well cared for. I did not see any signs of ick on any of the tank inhabitants. No floaters either. Their coral selection is limited with a mix of zoas, LPS and softies. Not alot of sps. Hair algae was present is the coral displays but nothing a seasoned reefer would worry about.

Fresh water: plants o plenty. especially bulb plants like swords and lace leaf.
SA cichlids- Huge selection, and not just babies either.
Afrian Ciclids Modest, some very nice yellow lab
Tetras- The most varieties I have seen in one place in a long time.
Plecos- dozens of species including the hard to find zebra plecos
Puffers- Mbu and Fakha as well as some smaller species
Cold/Pond- Koi, oranandas, moors o'plenty

Saltwater: Inverts-modest
Fish- wide selection. Very healthy. Both reef and non reef available
Live Rock- Mostly Fugi, also a lot of rubble
Coral= Modest, Colonies mostly. Zoas, LPS, Softies. a few sps. Not alot of frags.

Brackish: Puffers, scats and monos

The help was first rate. I would recommed a visit just to see the selection. It was worth the hour drive to check out the place. I am going to include it on my monthly visit list.

I will say they do have a pretty decent selection for fw. I know they have recieved some flak on other posts and sites but I've never had a problem. The owner always greets me anytime I walk in as well as the two women that work there. I've bought a few hard to find cichlids from them at decent prices. They even carry freshwater moray eels which look like the sw eels minus the coloration. Sw prices are a little high but that's part of being up here I guess. If you are into fw it's definitely worth a stop.

Was not going to post but since its here. A few weeks back told him I was ordering more lights and he asked me to order 12 for him. Took about a week to get the order right with the factory called him said ordering tonight they would be shipped to him he said ok. Told him I would come pick up the money in the morning he said ok. In the morning said he had to buy something else and was canceling.
problem is now Ive alrady paid. So after 10 yrs of doing business with Jason will not be going there again. I did look on reviews for his store seems he does have a problem with honesty.
