Wow, you think you've seen everything there is to see in your tank and then something else pops up. I discovered this mystery crustacean in my refugium just a few minutes ago. She looks just like a teeny-tiny emerald crab but is bright red on the bottomside with bright red legs and is greenish-white on the topside of her carapace. I wonder if my half-dozen emerald crabs may have spawned (I've seen them carrying sponge) and one managed to survive. If that is the case, it's probably red because it's been heavily fed Cyclop-Eeze. That stuff has even stained the grout on my kitchen tile red!

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully after Darrin's photography lesson at February's meeting I will be able to take better pics.

looks like a mud crab. Whatever it is, it looks evil. I would keep it in the refugium if you dont have anything to loose in there. Thats where all my mischief makers go.

that's funny. My tank has been up and running to for more than two years. sunday I found a little white crab about the size of a dime. This hobby is full of surprises.
