I lost everything. Had started 9 yrs ago and it hurts so much. Had a mated clown pair for that long. They survived thru all except the freeze [emoji24].

Ohh and I forgot to add that people were sitting in their cars in the garage with door closed to stay warm.

But....the most brilliant of all. A family of 4 actually bought a generator and ran it wide open in the middle of the living room. Yes you heard that right. The wife was in the bedroom and stared to feel sick along with a child. Headache and nausea. She came out and the two males were both dead on the floor with white stuff frothing out their mouths. She and the child made it out thank God.

Quick reminder:
Don’t run anything in the house or a garage with door closed!

That is horrible and so sad....

I run our generator on the front porch with the exhaust pointing out to the sidewalk away from the house, I have cables go around into the garage and into the house for power. In addition I run a big box fan attached to the generator that pushes air across the generator and out to the sidewalk to help exhaust CO and every other fume coming off the generator.

I lost most of my livestock. Only a chocolate tang, hippo tang survived for the fish. My 3 nems, 2 urchins, some of the clean up crew (small snails and at least one emerald crab) and mushroom corals also survived.
We were without power for over two days.

So sad to see all these losses...

You can find some good generators for cheap - it doesn’t have to break the bank.

I use this when we go camping or fishing - it can easily run a heater in your reef. And very fuel efficient due to size.

And for oxygen use a cheap air pump which takes DD batteries. It can run for days without an issue.
