Hi all,

I have introduced a diamond goby to my 55g about 10 days ago. He kept hiding for the first three days and then after I was reassured to see the sand moved around all over, he peeked out of one of the rocks a couple times. Since then, no sign of him... Are these gobies used to get out only at night? Or stay buried? Or should I get really worried and try to look for anything remaining of him???
Thanks

I would check all around your tank. I had a Blenny that disappeared just like you're describing and I only found him months later. At the back of the tank on the carpet floor. [emoji15]

:( Sorry about that Biocube25. I know I read that people said theirs jumped out and they found them behind the tank. My tank is an island display so I already checked all around, and luckily nothing there. Tried to move the sand around: nothing. Unless he's hidden under the sand in the caves I have (which I cannot really reach). My worry is if he's scared and starves to death... I will check again when I do my WC this weekend.
Also have a big increase in green algae (nitrates are 10ppm according to my API kit) and I am worried he's just decaying somewhere in the tank which may cause this outbreak....

Will keep you posted

I have a goby of some sort that came with a biocube I bought. The first two months I had the tank I thought he goby had died. The last few weeks he has been out in the open

Fingas, I hope I have the same experience as you. I have made a WC today and took advantage of the lower water to move the sand around. With all the LR could go many places though but nothing came out of there. Not loosing hope though, he may well be hiding under one of them. Fingers crossed. I liked my goby :ohwell:
