So I’m going from a 30 cube to a 60 cube.. Question is, should I add some dry rock? I have about 40Lbs in the 30G now. Am I going to see wild changes in water parameters if I just put what I have in the new tank and don’t change anything? Its stable now so what will happen doubling the size of the water but not changing the inhabitants? I’m sure some of you have done this...

i went from a 32 gallon bio cube to sumped 40 breeder with no issues. i did replace my aragonite sand bed and added about 20 lbs of dry rock. the way i understand it is your not increasing your bioload just the amount of water. i did add turbostart just to be safe. just my 2 sense.

+1 on adding some bottled bacteria just to be safe.

I did call a fellow Marshian about this the day I got the tank home. I did take the dead rock and clean it really well before putting it in the tank (dipped in a vinegar solution 24hrs then rinsed in RO water then dried again) I saved as much of my water as possible and cleaned my sand really well before adding it to the tank. I put in some microbacter7 to give the tank a boost but I found out today through some research that it’s a dormant bacteria and that it will take time to add to the bacteria population. I will get some cultured bacteria from an LFS here near the house. It’s looking really good right now save for some cloudiness I don’t think the eshoops filter bags catch the small stuff very well
