What are y’all’s favorite spooky horror movies? One of my favorites, The Exorcist III, just showed up on Netflix! I’m going to rewatch The VVitch soon, plus a long list of other horror movies.

Depends on the type of horror… but a couple of my favs are In the Mouth of Madness, The Devil’s Rejects, and Army of Darkness
Mouth Of Madness is one of my favorites as well. One of Carpenter’s most underrated pieces of work.

We have a Freddie in our town. I see him with the same stripped shirt. He has the same hat. Same size body frame. Same face with no hair. I call him Fred and he has no idea what I am talking about. : )

My older daughter (13) and I are going to start binge watching horror movies tonight, we are starting with the "Halloween" movies. Figured an oldie was a good way to start her off....probably good for me too haha! I am a big chicken when it comes to horror movies, I see most of them through the small gaps between my fingers when I cover my eyes which is actually how I end up watching about 75% of each movie 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully she doesn't follow in my scaredy cat footsteps.

I just watched a couple John Carpenter movies yesterday. Halloween is one of his best movies! Big Trouble In Little China is my favorite of his though.

So after Halloween then what?

Not sure, been thinking of watching some from each decade from the 60's forward if for no other reason than to watch the evolution of horror flicks. Will definitely watch some of the ones that I am familiar with from my youth like Friday the 13th, The Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining, and Hellraiser... but ultimately it will depend on what we think she can handle. Definitely gonna throw in some old school, black and white Dracula though haha! I'm definitely open to suggestions if anyone has any!

I would highly recommend Night Of The Living Dead by George Romero for your 60's movie. You have to understand, zombies really weren't a thing until very recently. Romero pretty much put them on the map and set the stage for the concept of zombies in general. No Night Of The Living Dead, then no zombies in our culture the way they are today.

Thanks!

Man, watching Halloween last night showed me just how much horror flicks have evolved over the years. Aside from having her avert her eyes during certain scenes, she watched the whole flick and was unimpressed. She said it was really no different than what is on mainstream TV these days 🤷‍♀️ So I guess tonight we try something new tonight and maybe pick up the rest of the Halloween movies another time.
