Lol, guys this is a post from quite a while ago when I started my 210G in the first year, which I have never posted, but I find it very useful to know about this issue !!! Just found it back while doing a clean up on my computer ;-)

"So I got this Coral order placed and when my Monti arrived I was lucky as hell.
I had finally a few of these very exotic hard to keep critters on my livestock……yeahhhhhh

The underside of the coral had some matured Nudibranches on it. They looked crystal white like lil sandcorns. They appeared like the last Unicorns to me ;-) Could see even nests of eggs.
I was so exited. Anyways, the coral hosted these critters very well. But it was time to do then a coral dip, to make sure no unwanted pests are entering my system and QT tank.

So I dipped the Montipora in a dip of CoralRX PRO, exactly as recommended.
After the dip, I place the coral into the QT tank.
A few days later, what a surprise, all the other Montipora in the QT system were already hosted by these unicorn critters as well. Wow, how amazing.
Nevertheless, part of a good QT phase is considering multiple dipping phases.

So I took these now 3 Montis with the Nudibranches for another dip.
This time I wanted to make sure that no more pests will remain on the coral except the Nudibranches, which like to live in symbiotic relationship to the Monti species. So this time I dipped with 2x times the dose and took a microscope to make sure the nudis are all still alive. And they were pretty awesome moving under the scope on the first coral.
So I took the next coral and dipped it in 3x times the recommended dose and additionally for twice as long since I know now, that these nudis are really strong against that coral dip.
Well, after that dip, which might have been too much for the Nudis, I took a Nudi off the dip container and placed it in fresh saltwater over night.
It unfortunately died which I could confirm the next morning under the microscope.

So I placed the Montis back into the QT tank, and waited another 3 days, which allowed the Monti to attract all other lost Nudis in the QT back to the coral.
Only 2-3 Nudis were attracted, and I unfortunately forgot to reduce the concentration of the dip back to the normal recommendations, so they all died.

Even hoping their might some more in the tank, the 3 colonies did not attract anymore any Montipora eating nudibranchs after that.

So they were all gone ;-(
Not sure what I did wrong, but be careful with these terrible dips, they kill Nudis if 3x used as much as supposed to be, and corals being dipped for 2x the time that is recommended. The Coral looked fine afterwards, but not the Nudis !!!"

Happy Reefing,
-Andre
