Help! Both of my clowns have Brooklynella (Clownfish Disease). I have been calling everywhere to try and get my hands on 37-40% formaldehyde, which I've read are the only cure? I know the disease moves quick and purchasing online would be too late, any ideas on where I can locate some? I'm in the Cypress area but don't mind a drive.

Ruby Reef Rally (1 teaspoon per gallon for 90 minutes) is another option that will work. After the bath, transfer the fish into a QT and dose Seachem Metroplex every 48 hours for 10 days as an insurance policy.

If all else fails, just give them both a 5 min FW dip: Freshwater Dip – Marine Fish Diseases and Treatment

Again, afterwards treat with Metroplex in a QT. The DT should be left fallow (fishless) for 6 weeks.

H2O2 Bath certainly helped, both are in their QT tank now being treated with Metroplex for next 6 weeks. Ordered the 37% formaldehyde just in case (2 week delivery). I'll keep this updated with any changes for anyone interested.

Damn, just saw this. I have a huge bottle of Formalin MS (37% formaldehyde) in Pearland if you want to drive. Text me eight three two-473-4380
Brand new never opened. I try to stay stocked up on meds for instances like this.

@webster1234 They haven't made Formalin MS for a few years now, so that bottle is likely expired. Unfortunately, formalin shelf life is only around 6 months for optimal results. I've read that it can still be used for 12-24 months, but I suspect it's effectiveness will be reduced after 6 months.

well shucks, but good to know. Yep, receipt shows it was purchased in Nov 2017. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you to everyone who have been checking in, unfortunately the Clown that was showing sickness passed the first night in the QT. Really upsetting, but for now I'll continue to treat the other just in case. 2nd clown hasn't shown any symptoms yet thankfully, although it hasn't eaten in the past couple days now. I have pellets arriving today that may do the trick, otherwise I'm still scratching my head on this one.

My lil guy gobbled up his new Marine-S pellets by Hikari immediately! Hate to speak too soon, but looks like he will be just fine. Stinks to have lost one, but came out with a learning experience and new tools to tackle something like this in the future. Thanks again to everyone who chimed in.
