Help! How do I save this guy? (1 Viewer)

I've had this guy for over three years now.....so long in fact that I've forgotten what the name/species it is. I lost a head about 3 months ago and then another the next month. Now they're going fast and I'm not sure what's wrong. Other corals are fine, did a water change a few days ago and planning another soon. Parameters seem fine but I haven't had time to test everything. Seneye says PH and temp are good. Any ideas?

Euphyllia can be sensitive to calcium and magnesium swings. You changed salt mix or started/stopped dosing something lately?

There are some in the tank....maybe a couple of small dots on the stalk.

I think some people have had good results with pulling and dipping the living heads as well as fragging them to separate the colony. I think it was iodine dips people have been having luck with. Might be worth it to search for brown jelly and try what has worked for people fighting that.

Yes definitely dip the coral - watch how many flatworms come out of a small colony.

I year or two ago, I lost about 30% of my LPS for no rhyme or reason after having never lost a head in about 10 years. Then it stop for no rhyme or reason and they all regrew new heads and are happy and healthy today. I think it was vibrio bacteria getting a foothold then doing damage before the corals recovered and strengthen up.
