Just a quick reminder that I am a newbie and in "learning mode". I am just starting with my tanks, but I have started a list of some possible candidates.
Since I have zero experience with these, I wonder if you guys can help whittle down the list and recommend any other I should include.
I understand some of these should not be mixed or will be too large for my small tanks (or other reasons).

Please note there is a reef tank and an aggressive tank, each is 160gal.

Clown Trigger
Blue Throat Trigger
Sargassum Trigger
Lineatus Fairy Wrasse
Royal Gamma
Dragonet
Bicolor Parrotfish
Banggai Cardinalfish
Red Sea Purple Tang
Purple Tang
Regal Blue Tang
Orange Shoulder Tang
Blond Naso Tang
Sohal Surgeonfish Tang
Powder Blue Tang
Achilles Tang
Emperor Angelfish

Since I've only had nano tanks, I don't have a good amount of experience with most of these guys.
The one fish I think you should remove from the list is the dragonet. They will require a pretty mature tank with tons of pods to graze on.
When i was in your shoes, I took advantage of LiveAquaria's compatibility chart and looked up species requirements and care info there as well.

Thanks for the reference. It does help and pretty much whittled down my list to three species. :)

*Reminder - These will be across a reef and an aggressive tank. I am sure I may need to remove one or two from the list, let's say this is just a "wishlist".
Of course, I am open to suggestions!

The sohol will be a constant killer in that small of a tank. Ive had a number of them and they all cause problems when they get older.
You will probably need to choose between powder blue and achilles. Might work if added at the same time.
Might consider Asfur angel, and more wrasses. Yellow coris are always great and a parrot fish.

Funny, I was thinking the same about the power blue and achilles! (I prefer the powder blue). I also prefer the wrasses to the Asfur.
As for the Sohol, if I can have the Naso, I will be OK without it. I am just trying to come up with the proper list to make sure what order I need to get them in to start QT.

When it comes to aggression purple tang is the worse - add that sucker last. Yeah definitely go with a naso vs a sohal.
