Hi everyone
I qui not new but that's a new problem for me!!
My anemone decided to move and sting the biggest coral I had a Hollywood stunner chalice :(
I am heartbroken. The burn seems to expand rapidly so I broke off what still looked healthy but the edges still are dying off. Should I break it in the healthy part? Any tips welcome!
Thanks

I'm not a chalice guy but with most corals, if the tissue is slowly dying and continuing to spread, you are going to not only have to cut the dead off but get into the healthy part a bit too to get the infected areas. You could try an iodine dip but I think end result is going to be the same. Take an 1/8" of the healthy tissue off where it is dying. Try to make the cut as clean as possible to give the exposed tissue the best chance at survival.

Thank you very much! Yes it continued to spread so I will try to save as much as I can today following your advice. I had another healthy frag so at least I have some of it left... thanks again

I agree, make a clean break. You can use iodine (infected area) or ReVive (ReVive is very strong, but works, so I'd just dip the infected area). You can also use Cyanoacrylate Gel at the infection line to minimize infection/brown jelly. Make sure there is adequate flow to keep the area flushed from settling bacteria.

Thank you! I have cut away from the dead part within the healthy part, I will see how it goes tomorrow. I have none of these products but if it's still not right will get them from the LFS. Appreciate your help.
