How do folk do this? Handle your fish and they look so relaxed...

fish whisperer? drugs (tang quaaludes)? skills? whats up? If I try to handle one of my fish (no I'm not doing it all the time) they want no part of it.. I tried moving by hand while doing TTM but after my kole tang took a leap from my hands I went back to nets...

Since I went through such a long QT process with my Powder Brown once I catch him I can move him pretty easily like that. Just catching him is the issue.

We developed quiet a bond when I was doing 50% water changes daily for almost a month.

ya i had to check my Wyoming clown for ich and to do that i had to scoop him to the surface in a net( still in the water just raised up to the light and close inspection) it took 10 minutes of him weaving though the pump, filter intake, and the filter outtake to get him ( he did have ich wasn't able o find it on him but on my normally clown )

Seems inhumane ... just saying. I avoid buying any fish from vendors that post pictures like that.

Oh I don’t know. They have most likely have been given a lite dose of MS-222. Doubt they feel much of anything. Being netted probably isn’t a party for them either.

Most of those pictures from that post from that thread had fish in water on their side. I think one was out of water.

I was definitely taking the fish out of water as I was doing tank transfer method.

Contrary to belief being able to get them on their side in very shallow water is an excellent way to check them for parasites.

Like I said I think the majority are probably under light anesthesia from the MS-222 so they shouldn’t be stressed.

The point of this thread was to see what techniques people use while also introducing a little humor.

i use the net and a shirt to keep them dark i said that the shirt keeps them calmer i normally use a cup to keep them in water but the dark calms my fish (also stops jumpy fish from falling)(and ill stop commenting for a bit if its too much or off topic)
