Just curious how often do you guys/gals visit any LFS?
I'm happy if I can make it once a week. I don't see anything new anymore - pretty much same coral/fish. I think the online business is killing the local business.

I always try to rotate between our sponsor stores (and hopeful sponsor stores [emoji6])and visit one every week or so to say hi and check things out even if I don't need anything. Sometimes I will just bring my jugs and get some FW just because (even though I have a RODI). All our sponsors are great and I enjoy catching up with them, lots of great friendships to enjoy. Only ones I don't really get to are ADG and OLA.

Yep, but the big problem is the Indonesian ban. Most reefers don’t realize the HUGE impact its’s having on our hobby. LFS are basically trading corals at this point. Only a few places like Australia still shipping out corals and it’s not enough to really sustain these businesses. Every store I go too has about 50% less coral than what they had before the ban. It’s killing them... although they may not admit it. The future of the hobby depends on Aquacultured corals and facilities like WWC are gonna do well. Either that, or you better convert 1/2 the store to freshwater to make it through the drought. That’s if the drought ever ends. Some businesses are already closing down and others will hang on, but soon close their doors as well. Indonesia needs to open back up.

Go to 8:40 on this video and see for yourself what’s already happening:

^^^Yeah saw the video - pretty alarming. Indo/Fiji shut down and imagine if Australia shuts down.

For now hold on to your corals - fish only tank is the new reality.

Yeah at LFS all same stock nothing new.

We just need Indonesia and Fiji to open back up again. Otherwise this already expensive hobby just got a lot more expensive. Even if the LFS aren’t hurting that bad, they’ll use it to their advantage and make you believe they are to jack up the price of the corals.

But don’t worry...there are big profits to be made with those Indonesian corals. Shouldn’t be long before a smooth talker convinces the Indonesian government that mariculturing corals benefits everybody including the government. I’m sure they’ll have to pay off the government before the ban is lifted.

Meanwhile...WWC will keep growing corals so we’re safe. Lol.
