Hello I am new to marsh and I currently only have freshwater tanks I am about to start a saltwater tank after quarantine should I either get the supplies and put them on a bare tank or buy a tank that comes with the supplies and what livestock should I get

Welcome to MARSH Grant!

What are you hoping to keep? Different types of fish/corals need different levels of effort akin to tetras vs cichlids vs discus.

I would start with water, get yourself an RODI unit. You don't want to be driving up to the LFS everytime you need water.

No, I do not want a sump I just want a really small tank I heard I might need a protein skimmer I might not
Are you looking to have an AIO (all in one) build or just manage your top-off (evaporated water that must be replaced) directly in the tank?

Also, I would highly recommend a skimmer. Not only is it an excellent source for mechanical filtration, it helps aerate your water and balance the ph.

Ya it am awesome hobby. There are lots of awesome videos on utube. First off get the biggest tank you can afford and have room for. That is what everybody says.

I have a 125 I do not have a sump It can be done just you have to stick with the hardy stuff and only feed dry flake food and pellets. Try and avoid the meaty frozen stuff cus that will ruin your water quality real quick....
