Hey guys,

I'm on vacation in Destin Florida, and I want to bring some fish and inverts back. Does anyone have any advice on bring them back I brought a 5 gallon bucket. Do you think it would survive if I got an airerator? It's about a 9 hour drive!

Are you still there? (9 hours in a 5 gallon bucket = dead marine fish). But anything is possible eh?

I made that exact same drive. From Destin to houston with a 5 gallon bucket and aerator. You will be fine

Ya but it is risky... Around 6 years ago I did a total take down of my tank and had fish in 5 gallon buckets with airation. They were not in there for more than 3 hours and I did loose some fish in the buckets. will never do that again.

Coming from Atlanta I had fish in five gallon buckets for 2 days and lost none, Including tangs. I did have some extra water in baggies where I did a mini water change the second day

Wow that is awesome and have never heard of that. I did see that it is a 12 hour car ride from Atlanta to houston which means you can probably do it in 10. I flew it once and that was long enough for me.

Get fish in via fedex all the time their 18 hrs in as small bag. Would add to keep dark to keep them inactive. Go to Atlanta every year no way your doing it in 10hrs unless you got deep pockets for all the tickets your going to get. In my case we tend to spend the night so my wife can visit a casino. Thus the second day

Ya I like Atlanta too. I had a nice memorable trip there few years back. what I did not like ... 4 corners area is too rough for my liking. My hotel had 2 Atlanta Addreses and I was all set to walk to the wrong one if I did not notice this the night before and was very upset about. People are a little edgy like look behind your back edgy. Other than that my trip was totally awesome. It took 2 weeks but Julien finally got an answer I hope we were not too late
