HI All:

So, I got my tank set up last year (see my tank thread) splurged on all things APEX and had someone come and help me do the config and it ran great....
Now I want to do recalibration, and I see my dosing machine is not optimal....
I came to find out that said person set it up with HIM being the admin , so I can see but can't touch/modifiy anything....
I figured, unplug, hit the little reset button and I should have a hard reset allowing me to set up everything....NO DICE!
What am I missing to do a hard reset? according to websites that should have reset it but it doesn't!

Regards
Glenn

Sometimes you have to wait for Neptune to update the Fusion cloud. Usually its quick but have heard of people having to wait a few days.

He has to remove it from his fusion.

I went through this exactly
Yeah that’s a software issue but I think you can do it with the hardware as well. I did it once but I don’t recall how I did it.

i'd only buy it used if you can still contact the person afterwards after the sale to clear out the apex from the account

I was able to get a sweet deal on an apex el for 250

I don’t think there’s anything you can do on the client end. You contact Neptune and they will attempt to verify the sale by contacting the original owner.

If no answer they then can remove the owner and reset the unit. This was their internal procedure as early as last year.

I just did this last week.

you want to take a paper clip to the underside of the base unit. There you will see a small hole which is the reset button. Press that once quickly, then again for 6 to 7 seconds. next youll want to press the reset button again for close to 30 seconds. That should clear everything out and allow you to go through the setup process

after these three steps, this is where you’ll press the reset button again to turn on the blue light which turns on the WiFi to log into the apex. Be warned, once you do a hard reset you’ll have to reprogram everything. I just went through this and it was a headache.

Are you talking about the Fusion app login, or the http://apex.local password?

If it's Fusion, use a web browser to go to APEX Fusion. On that screen, click the Forgot Login link and follow the instructions.

If it's your Apex.local password, try the default:

http://apex.local
username: admin
password: 1234

If you need to reset your apex.local password, you will need to press and hold the reset button for at least 30 seconds until the Apex resets. This will wipe out your entire configuration and set it back to factory defaults.

The directions @TX_Punisher posted in post #10 should resolve your issues.
