Say they come back different. What information outside of word of mouth reputation do you have to validate one or the other? Which do you trust?
I hear you. Just curious of how you would validate one versus the other.I guess it will depend on what parameter reads at a different amount from the other test. Plus, if it’s one that I own a home test kit for I can just retest and compare the two ICP results.
To have used one company with consistent results through a years worth of testing (and no imminent changes in my dosing measures), it would be odd to have a sharply skewed result from another brand.
Again, if the results are within reason from one another, I’ll definitely switch.
Floride? I guess it kinda makes sense since it helps with calcification... just watch out for your fish.I've always preferred ATI, it tests for more elements than both the cheap icp and the more expensive Triton. From what I understand Triton is slightly more accurate in a couple of the elements but the difference is negligible depending on what and why you are testing for. I've tried a few of these and always have less than a 1% difference in most elements but that could just be luck. I mainly use ATI because it tells you fluoride, which I dose in my sps tank, Triton doesn't.
I just drop a little Colgate in my tank periodically and have never had an issue corals living too long. Lol wish it was that easy. It's actually about color. Flouride brings out greens and yellows by helping the corals grow "cleaner" by expelling excess zooxanthellae during calcification and producing new proteins. Not the best pics but here is about a two week difference of some of my Walt Disney colonies after starting to add fluoride. This tank had almost no fluoride and now has natural seawater levels and yellow is really starting to come out and there was almost no other changes in those two weeks. Should help with blues as well but I've seen no indication of it doing that in this tank.I just drop a little Colgate in my tank periodically and have never had an issue corals living too long. Geez. Are you sure you put water in the vial? Haha just kidding! Did you reach out to them? More than likely, that was an operations or data entry issue as opposed to testing quality.
It kinda looks like they got someone else's RODI sample mixed up with your sample. I've had nothing but good success with them. Hopefully they can get this sorted out for you.
Meanwhile someone else is questioning the quality of their RO system. It kinda looks like they got someone else's RODI sample mixed up with your sample. I've had nothing but good success with them. Hopefully they can get this sorted out for you.
