i know it may be against our hobby, but in reality it will drive more breeding efforts. increase the scope of available captive bred specimens, hardier fish etc. so there are some pros as well. and while everyone is going to go crazy buying 300 yellow tangs for about 1-2 years, the market will meet demand and overcompensate driving prices down again. my expectation given todays facts, is that the price will settle somewhere in the $100 retail range after a few years which is profitable to breeders, fair and accessible to the average hobbyist. but that's just me, your average hobbyist thinking out loud.

Ha.. i remember hunting for gas @ $0.99 in katy and area lmao

So consider future market momentum and economics of scale. ORA doesn't have to be price competitive because brand name but imagen we had 100 ORA creating price pressure. If Hawaii really diasapears for a long time.

We won't have 100 ORA.... thats why Petco bought live aquaria..... plus we have 100s of small coral vendors all with their "rare" high price corals.

The price won't stop going up for a while guys. You think this is expensive....wait til there is no stock... be like GME shorts lol.... all fish gonna go up in price then come back down a little but nothing like we're used to paying... everything has almost 2-5x price increase in past 10 yrs in this hobby... and its just growing...
I’ll go catch my own fish. Haha

👆 sorry all BTC tied up in $GME right now... I bought in @$350. I know, I know.. it was a little late. But based on the $$ I invested and the rate the stock has been blowing up, I will probably be able to retire. Last time checked it was almost $500. Hold let me check where we are today. I’m gonna cash out buy a new truck and hell, I might just buy an airplane.. whoohoo.

You’re like the 10th person I’ve heard talking about stocks this week.

I have no idea how to do it. I need to take some classes.

I’d love to retire early and head to Costa Rica for my final days.

I don't generally go for the wild speculative rides like GME. I'm up over 2100% in Taser (now called Axon Enterprises), but I bought it in 2008. That's the key - buy during a recession and be patient.

I think the best investment now is a big tank and a bunch of yellow tangs.
