also NEVER watch the news always go to the websites one thing fox did is hire spokespeople who just talk and they dont say its news but commentary so they dont get in trouble yet can still make it look like news same goes for almost any network the same sit linked cnn mixed yet also mentioned that the show is mixed yet the actual website is very factual same goes for others since they normally go though editors and have a more rigorous process

CNN is the worst news company ever. I don't think I've ever heard them say anything that was truthful "that goes double for the website". When people say fake news they just mean CNN.

Dont forget MSNBC. I mean lets face it the majority of the major networks are left leaning, fox is right leaning yet fox continually gets brought up as an example of bad news. Sheesh. Oh and btw several of the "fact checkers" are definitely left leaning if not falling over. @Mpolasek since you didn't cite your source we have no way of knowing how much if any political bias they have.

I don’t think anybody is questioning that. It just seems to consume 100% of the news cycle. We personally know 5 families total of about 10 people with COVID out in West Texas.

One of my mothers full time caretakers tested positive for COVID about 4 days after her shift staying with my mom. It’s a miracle my mom didn’t catch it.

I think what YOU’RE concerned with is the “commentary” passed off a “news” by some organizations. That’s considered fake news.

How about never group every news organization as all the same. That’s no different than grouping all people of one race one way or another. Every news organization is different, just like people are.

You mention fox and cnn, both are typically not considered news organization since they both clearly side with one party or the other and their owners admit that by who they support.

Also the process to get material on a news organization website is no different than what they go through to put it on tv. If anything, what goes on tv is vetted more because it includes video and a written script.

I think what YOU’RE saying in your post is “commentary” being passed off as “news” as well... that’s considered “fake news”.

Definitely consuming the media. I don’t watch too much. It will tweak your mind.

Me, my wife, and my little girl had it early on. It nearly killed me, my wife had mild to moderate symptoms, and the baby (1yr 3 months) was mild.

From what I’ve seen in the hospital and fighting it on the front line is that it could go well for you or basically kill you.

Even if you’re mild most people struggle with recovery for months and the virus tends to LINGER forever. My motor skills are still not 100%. The virus also affects the viscosity of the blood and makes people throw clots. I was on anticoagulant therapy daily, 6mg dexamethasone daily, lab draws AM & PM to keep all levels in check and on point. Vitamins and boost for protein. Of course heart monitoring with come CT’s, CXR, and Echocardiogram’s. We also closely considered Plasma Therapy and Remdesivir, but though prayers I started to recover and didn’t need the additional therapy.

Bottom line:

Wear a good mask and get a pair of safety glasses from Lowe’s (there’s a clear pair I’ve been wearing currently- completely acrylic with no color or rubber on them) because transmission can occur through your eyes. Limit putting your nose out of your mask like so many people try to do. Your nose is an airway! If you can wear N95 and avoid a loose fitting surgical mask you’ll increase your protection by 40-50% due to the seal on your face. Faceshields are very good. They work, but to be fully protected you really need to wear a mask under it which makes it extremely hot. Also, AGGRESSIVE HAND-WASHING is key.

My N95 3M NOISH 1860 blocks particles down to 0.03 microns. The smallest viral particles are about 0.06 microns. So that green N95 was my lifesaver for a longtime.

I was staying safe with hundreds of COVID-19 pt’s with aerosols, intubations, bronchs, highflow oxygen, bipaps, BUT THEN... my wife brought it home from Kroger where I don’t wear a mask or PAPR in the comfort of my own house. That’s how I caught it. :-(

This is basically what I wear with high-flow devices or aerosols. There’s a large 3M N100 battery powered filtered cartridge on my belt in the back. We also wear a surgical gown over this which I just discarded before this pic. I always wore double gloves discarding the top pair before leaving into the anti-room. As you can see I still wore my N95 under the PAPR because I’ve had batteries go dead in the middle of long intubations. All our positive pt’s are either in negative pressure or the room itself is being scrubbed.
