Ya sure it is great for your corals and invertebrates but what is it doing to your fish? Has anybody had any problems? I just had a death and suspect the iodine had something to do with it???? It was only week 2 of using it to spruce up my corals. RIP I used recommended dose.

I recall reading somewhere that high levels of iodine does adversly affect fish. Did you test your levels before you started dosing?

I have been dosing it for a while with no affects on the fish that I can tell, and it has done wonders for one of my Gorgonians. That being said, I would not dose it without first getting a test kit to make sure I don't overdose. From my understanding, any overdose can be quite harmful to I think both fish and corals.

I am not even sure it was the iodine that killed him Sure seems strange .....
Ok, well what other fish do you have in the tank? How are your parameters? Do you have a picture of your tank? Maybe we can help you solve the mystery :)

Well the yellow tang is doing great Aweek ago increased the airation and circulation of the tank and he is doing fine now. I have a tomato clown and he is awesome... I have lots of damsels few hardy corals. I do not test but maybe I should. I do a 15% water change monthly so rely on that. Thanks for your help I think I am going to dump the iodine and move on. It will be quite a while till I get another emperor angel if ever. They always get lateral line when I have one. Thanks ... moving on with hardy stuff.
