I bought a slightly used jebao dp-4 dosing pump and I have some questions about how it's supposed to run or the pump head assembly:
1. Is the solution supposed to stay in the line after it's perged? After running the pump and removing any air in the lines the solution would slowly drain back through the line.
2. Calibration past maximum 250? When I calibrated each pump, almost all 4 wouldn't even finish pumping the full 100ml before it hit 250 revolutions.

I've been researching this dosing pump and one problem I found was how the peristaltic pump was assembled: does anyone know how the rollers are supposed to be installed correctly?

1. The solution should stay in the line after relieving it of air bubbles/traps. If you are draining back down into your reservoirs, you have a puncture in the line somewhere. It is more than likely in the head assembly.

2. You may need to replace those heads.

Helpful link on what I'm talking about: Amazon.com : Jebao OEM Replacement DP-4 Dosing Pump Head : Pet Supplies

That happened to me and I had to replace the whole head. As you can see... they are fairly cheap, though.

Thanks for the help. What about when I calibrate the pumps? It stops at 250 revolutions because it hasn't even pumped 100 ml yet.

Well, without looking at it, in pretty sure its going to need new heads. You're airline tubing should be air tight, and those silicone tubes tend to crack after awhile. I think that's why the replacement heads are so cheap. I'll post a video soon to show you what I mean. It's easier. [emoji6]

I found I have to use check valves with mine to keep things from backing up. I can't remember what max revolutions are when you calibrate each pump, but there is a calibration procedure for that. And I do agree, the tubes are the weak point. I had to pull mine out and unstick them and rotate them when I first got the unit. If the tubes become stiff or problematic, I have had the rollers in the head stop rolling.
