Anyone using any of these Jebao pumps? Please share your experience. Thinking about adding in my mix reef 90G for some random flow but little confused b/w these model and how many to add.

Appreciate the feedback.

I have had bad experiences with those pumps. Im usually a cheapo because I work for livestock and equiptment I buy, so for two years I used only jebao RW and SOW pumps. Every single one crapped out at the 6-8 month period despite routine cleanings. I have now purchased a icecap gyre and it is running strong for a year so far. I will no longer go cheap on powerheads. Jebao dosing pump however, is very good and has been running solid for 3 years. Some people love them, I just have bad luck with them

I've had amazing luck with jebao wavemakers. I have probably about 8 (4 of which have been in use over 2 years without issues)

Which Model you are using and what size tank?

I have been using smaller Jebao pumps with good success rate, got them used.

The 2+ year old ones are the PP-4's and I have several of the SOW's as well.
I have two in a 40B as the main flow source besides the return.

Two of the SOW-4 would be equivalent to what I was using in my 40.
I'd probably go with SOW-8's in your case. Definitely enough for a mixed reef.
I run the PP4's at low settings and its more than adequate for nems, zoas, euphyllia, etc..

Why not SOW15 for extra $5, you can always restrict the flow if needed but at least has the Horsepower for future.

Any experience/feedback about the SLW series? They seem to have wider flow and around the same amount but more GPH.

Those sine pumps are different than the SOW sine pumps. I have three of the SOW sine ones and they’re great if you want a lot of spread. They cast a VERY wide spray but I need the opposite for my three long tanks. I’ll probably post those up for sale soon. Hell, one is still brand new in box.

Not to derail the thread, but are the SOWs similar to gyres as far as function?

No, they still have a circular spray pattern. Gyres are longer and thinner.
