Haha so went to shut all the doors last night and do my walkthrough of the house before going to bed at 11 pm. Walk into the garage and all I hear is really loud whines coming from my chiller. Take a look at the apex and tank is 85 degrees. Ugh..... Removed the chiller and disassembled it cleaned the fan got it to spin free again and installed everything back into the chiller by 1 am tank was already cooling down. Note to self re configure alerts for apex.

My whole system sits outside so I know the pain... Just upgraded to a big mamma jamma of chiller for a system 3x the size of mine. I do have my mixing station in the garage and have measured 90+ on the water there... insane how hot it gets here....

Yeah it’s crazy hot. But I like the quietness. Also I don’t have to see all the gear. They also don’t have many parts available for these chiller units. They appear to be built for non repair haha. Mine has already been repaired a few times by me over the years.

You should make build thread.

Your spike in heat sure looks like it came very quickly, what caused that? Was the chiller putting out warm water because it was failing or is this tank outside? At 10-11pm at night the temp should have risen much slower than that. What was your alarm temp set at?

I like your idea of moving the sump inside. It’s just so darn hot in the garage.

My buddy had his entire tank in the garage, it was in wall tank. He had a chiller and he also left the garage door open couple of inches. His electric bill in summer $700-900 per month.

Mine is in my patio, not in the garage so there's a breeze and I have a couple of ceiling fans I have on during the day. I just got my electric bill, $350. In all honesty, it's not much different that it has been in previous years during the summer so I can't complain about the chiller using too much power. At this point I'm more concerned about finding a portable generator that can drive the chiller in case we lose power :(

Equipment is in the garage and fan stopped on chiller. Chiller was still running and apparently was super heating the water as the coil in chiller was extremely hot to touch

Im glad my bill isn’t that high. Mine is around 220 a month right now. But it will probably help not running one anymore. I had it when I used to run M/H and T5 over the tank.
