Okay... time for an update! Bought another (and probably final) fish for this aquarium! Saw him at FJW eating and just doing great and I fell in love. He’s maybe 1 inch - 1 1/2 inches long and his coloration looked really good to me, pretty clear line between the yellow face and purple body with no purple on his face (except for his eye rings) and gorgeous blue fin highlights. I’ve been looking at a bunch of different fish but saw him and knew he was just the perfect one. Here he is in my acclimation pitcher and in the tank for a couple of hours, will post pics of him once he’s more confident. Anybody have any care tips for these guys? Also, just a FTS, for some timeline purposes. I’m loving how my yellow hammer is coloring up! Also bought an aussie toadstool leather plus bowser and lunar eclipse zoas! Super psyched for those to grow out a little. 78C17F2E-825C-4029-A6CC-EB0F5D78A229.jpeg DB5C66FA-2933-4245-905A-47E1C938D4FE.jpeg 0E50C318-A88D-4524-B12C-6FFBBFE39831.jpeg

6/21/2020 update. So the first cherub died the next morning, unknown causes. Dennis from FJW was absolutely fantastic about it though and I got a new one today. Also bought this beautiful blue maxima cause I just couldn’t resist it and a red plating monti for my dad cause it’s Father’s Day and he’s great. Here’s my wild drip set up, don’t have a bubbler that fits my bowl so I just hung it higher so it agitates the water and makes bubbles. Frag wise, Im pretty much constantly selling zoas and Xenia. Also have a good blue shroom and gsp culture and I’m about to frag off the rainbow clove on the left side by the Xenia colony. The pink goni is finally showing some real extension, I’m super excited! 3E3DDAD3-4C7E-4A97-9293-ABDD1F9A4E33.jpeg 19E11BF0-4AD3-4BF6-AEC5-D9479D894C07.jpeg DA0B010D-48DC-45B6-B5D5-C4254BB5A960.jpeg FF6D59E3-E782-476A-8873-AA55A9BC59C7.jpeg

I must have just missed y’all. I was at FJW an hour or so ago. And yeah, he had some really nice clams in there. I thought about buying one too. Also, you need to get some Vibrant and dose it once a week, per their instructions. It will take care of your bubble algae issue.

Some pics of my favorites, and highlights on the clam now that it’s opening. Super shoutout to Dennis @fjwaquarium, customer service is incredible and livestock is unbeatable! Love his stuff. This clam is absolutely incredible, the coloration and pattern is super vibrant and beautiful! 52ACE308-F26B-47B9-89EF-5188C7A16498.jpeg 1012B918-20B5-49BB-9F47-2D804D01CC0C.jpeg 4872BA49-81DA-4CAF-BB8F-CAA0CEBE15E6.jpeg D75AF6E1-DE65-44C2-8056-8779D409C830.jpeg 499790D4-DB2B-4C50-8FEE-D8BE4D3AFE2A.jpeg 7E585221-AFFE-4517-9D1F-3AA42942C3E0.jpeg 495AB10F-91A4-46B3-936E-74CC1C179087.jpeg A779297E-49AC-4532-9C6C-844A75F38BA5.jpeg 6AB02222-CC4E-4CC2-86F4-4505166BE0A9.jpeg 586078DC-572A-4512-B144-C4A0A6A3BD20.jpeg

New pictures! The cherub has really settled in well and is totally buddied up with my clowns. The clowns have decided to try to copy the cover of The Reef Aquarium book series 😂. My goni is finally showing some uniform PE, and my nem is looking great! Also, got some new rock flower nems from Aquatic Arsenal, which are also doing fine albeit scooting around to where I can’t see them :(. Would love to do a pico rock flower tank some day. 74FF9C23-D608-4A48-8493-74CB2C66402C.jpeg 76CA9CA3-1933-400D-8F5E-CC0CB2A0E370.jpeg 4BDB46DA-3567-49CA-B48E-741E3F982D23.jpeg 60DF88C7-0E89-4120-9606-B91410620399.jpeg 6A76261F-A52F-4137-AD27-CB84C33FF071.jpeg 8F353268-0EB7-4951-B07B-5DC7184BA928.jpeg 2186F712-F6F5-42A9-BCC5-F61A410F0F3A.jpeg 98C9B434-DFE7-4F12-8E3A-5E137B951B28.jpeg F4A96344-EC76-4481-AC4F-C40AD8161A15.jpeg 07CDB50C-7782-4AA9-9CF4-FC6EFDAC5AC7.jpeg Super happy with my tank.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but you should start dosing Vibrant. It will knock out the bubble algae.

Yeah, people keep telling me that. I’m mostly scared for my goni/clam/scoly/nems as they seem to be the most touchy. I’m just not a fan of dosing anything to my whole tank (except calcium and alk and stuff like that). I’m trying to find a couple emeralds but my search seems to be in vain... I refuse to pay $30 online for an emerald so I guess it’s just me, a net, and some tweezers for now.

I’m very much in that camp as well. Recently, I was nervous about dosing the fluconozole as well because I had never done it. Turns out, it works perfectly to kill bryopsis and didn’t harm the corals. I’ve dosed vibrant for years and it does exactly what it’s designed to do. It kills bubble algae.

It’s been forever since I did an update! But today is a big day so I’m gonna go ahead and do one. Just to start, here are some progress pics of the tanks that highlight new additions.

New scoly from infinity fish (they’re having a huge moving sale btw) beautiful pattern and gorgeous turquoise streaks that don’t come out too well in pics.

Went to Florida a month ago and found this guy drying up on the sand. He’s doing great! I spot feed him 3x a week with veggie pellets and mysis, very active and crawls all over the tank.

A dragon soul torch!!! My first really high end torch so I’m just crossing my fingers, praying he does okay, and taking better care of him than I take care of myself.

Some update pics on the rock flower anemones, these are the two that were the easiest to get pics of. Unfortunately, as we all know, anemones have a mind of their own and the rest of them chose less desirable locations for me to see them but I know they’re all there!

Update just kinda on the acan outcrop. Shows my new radioactive trumpet and the growth on my acans pretty well.

Got some yellow polyps from David (Reeftopia) they’re doing amazing but fail to reproduce the yellow color I saw in David’s tank. Any suggestions on how to help them?

Okay now it’s time for the real update (sorry, can only attach 10 pics so I had to make another post). As some of you may know, World Wide Corals did a contest on Reef 2 Reef recently for the cheesiest slogan. Through hard work, persistence, and determination, I managed to win twice. The winners got free frags from WWC if they paid for shipping. So I searched their website for weeks, eventually finding a sexy shrimp in the invert section that didn’t make my wallet cry.

I decided to order the sexy shrimp and pay for overnight shipping, and WWC included my free frags in the box with my new shrimp. This morning the mailman rang the door and I probably scared the crap outta him I opened the door so fast. Every reefer dreams of opening the blue box...

49D88EF0-1C24-41E8-B7FF-75814A491BF3.jpeg

Giddy with excitement, I rushed to my room and gently plopped the box on my bed, desperately searching for scissors. After slicing carefully through layers and layers of tape, insulation, styrofoam coolers, and cardboard, I reached crisp, white, printer paper. Scrawled on were the names of my free mystery frags!! I got a pipe organ and Agent Orange Enchinata!!

I started temp acclimating immediately after making sure my new babies were okay. Scared me to death when I couldn’t find the sexy shrimp! Turns out, he’s just tiny so I decided to name him Speck.

While they were temp acclimating I decided to research a little bit about my new corals and found these gorgeous photos from WWC of what they’re gonna look like after they get happy!

Finished temp acclimation and put Specky into a pitcher for drip acclimation. I threw the corals in right away and they got happy real quick!

After a long acclimation process, Specky was finally ready for his new home! He’s so tiny, here’s him next to some acans. Can’t wait till Specky Meet’s by other sexy shrimp, Heather.

So that’s the whole story!! Thanks for reading!

Got another scoly!! I think I may have a problem... still quite a few very pretty ones left at TAP and they’re on a good sale. Kinda disappointed he has some die off on the outer rim in the front but I guess I didn’t look closely enough before buying so that’s my fault. He’s still healthy and eats like a pig as soon as the lights go out so I’m confident he’ll be okay. DFA8328E-1424-4DE2-8875-5D5F17FE6F15.jpeg
The rest of these pics are just a couple that I took today, very happy with the growth on the zoas (Thanks ITReefer!) except for that stupid blue hornet, it just popped out two babies in the past week. He’s a little behind but of course he is cause I think he’s one of the prettiest ones. My purple bonsai acro is looking particularly stunning these days, and has grown significantly since it entered my care, extremely pleased with the growth on the birdsnest as well. Also, look at my clam!!! He’s doing great and still keeps his spot as #2 favorite for the tank (would be number 1 but that nem is so gosh darn pretty). Definitely a bottomless pit for my calcium!
