KHG controlling Ca Reactor (1 Viewer)

I got my set up with KHG kh guardians which is now auto testing my tank kh 8 time a day.

It transfer the data to my apex via the bnc cable.

CO2 outlet control by my apex through this following code.

Hope this helps anyone interested in auto testing and control of Ca reactor.

KHG can do Ca Reactor by itself without apex too with a Ca reactor module. So it’s a stand-alone unit for people without apex.

Yea, but KHG can work with any controller that have a ph port. And way cheaper than all the upgrade of apex plus price of trident ha

So are you just monitoring Alkalinity? Based on Alk readings are you doing any type of automation (turning CO2 on/off.. etc.) with your Ca reactor?

The apex co2 outlet will turn off when KHG report back kh higher than 8.5 in my case

yea haha I finally find out my kh will go up 0.8 at night and after i found that out i started to let it control the Ca reactor to shut off at some time. After that its so much smoother KH trend not.

Have you noticed a lag or rather continued increase in Alkalinity after it shuts off the CO2 for some period of time? If so is the setting you are using a compensation for that?

I'm just trying to figure out the set point for it so to speak. Hope you are following my train of thought.

Oh and thank you for creating this thread! I find this stuff very interesting.

What happen to me is that originally was at end of day time kh was okay keeping up to almost light out, like light off at 11 but at 9 the kh starts dropping below 8.5. Than at night time KH got replenish to about 8.8 and when like 4 am ca reactor will be shut off. It will than re-start about noon

And yes after it’s off it’s still going to feed abit kh out. I think u should try to get ur usage of kh as close as u can to ur Ca reactor output. Thay way most of the time is on and only occasionally off like a safeguard

Did a bit more fine tune on system.

Now got the KH swing within +-0.3 dkh. Avg 8.59 Max 8.91 Min 8.38
